How do I create and select the written phrases used in my work?
RULES:

Phrases often come to me at the end of the day or whilst trying to sleep, repetitive sentences that I am thinking over, often inspired by conversations i've had, things i've watched or emotions I have felt. Finding and forming symmetrical, neat rows of letters/words has become a kind of obsession, a way to materialise over-thinking, over-analysing, a mind that is rarely calm.
Phrases that have a ring to them, repetitive in either iliteration, syllables or number of letters, are most likely used - formed into paintings that often include colour blocks and pattern.
Starting point: Written in iPhone notes and then on to paper

Using lines throughout the piece or the swirling lines I associate with thought patter, I paint these phrases with the colours obscured by patter, to create a visually exciting and complex image.
