As a result of the spacial restriction of using my bedroom as a studio, I have been making lots of smaller pieces that can stand alone or in relation to one another. These phrases are chosen in a particular way which is laid out in this post: https://gracecupperpostgrad.wixsite.com/gracecupper/post/forming-phrases

What works well with these statements is that they are open to interpretation. It is not clear if they are demands, questions, reassurances, who is saying them and who they are directed at. They also can relate to one another:

DONT PANIC - THIS IS NOT FOREVER.

WHO ARE YOU - TAKE YOUR TIME

TAKE YOUR TIME - DONT PANIC

TRYING TO FIND - SOMETHING REAL (These pieces come as a diptych)

TAKE YOUR TIME - TRYING TO FIND - SOMETHING REAL

I would like to explore the visually connected pieces (like TRYING TO FIND - SOMETHING REAL futher) especially for the way the continuous line draws them together. This is another way to (as seen in https://gracecupperpostgrad.wixsite.com/gracecupper/post/digital-experiments-for-large-combination-piece) tie lots of short thoughts, feelings, phrases together to create complexity and depth to an exhibition.
